The Wandong History Group was formed to collect, preserve and promote the history of the Wandong township and the nearby region.

Our Aims:

• to protect and preserve our collection of historical material for future generations
• to gather material relating to our town and district’s early settlement history including the journey of early explorers Hume & Hovell
• to document the development of the private subdivision of Wandong
• to record the lives and stories of those who lived and worked in the township and district
• to record the industrial history of the township and associated industries on Mt. Disappointment
• to provide opportunities for research, publication and public use of our collection
• to promote, display and exhibit our collections to the public
